Red's Baptism and Dedication

Yes you've read it right. It's Red's baptism and dedication. You see, my husband and I are baby Christians during the time when Red was born so after 2 months, we decided to have him dedicated but of course, coming from a family with strong Catholic background, my parents (Red's grandparents) did not agree to have him simply dedicated but also to have him baptized in Catholic church.

Giving honor and respect to my parents, my husband and I decided to have both ceremonies in one day. We had Red's Catholic baptism in St. Alphonsus Mary Liguori Parish in Magallanes, Makati. Our experience during the baptism was not something we really treasure because my husband and I were questioned why did we bring our child there since we are born again Christians. Anyway, amidst the awkward discussion during the ceremony, we were able to get it over and done with and took a couple of photos in the venue.

After the baptism, we went straight ahead to Shakey's, Paseo Magallanes for Red's dedication and the event's reception. It marked a very special time to our lives as we dedicate our 1st child to the Lord.

It was indeed such a momentous milestone for us as we celebrate RED's dedication. =)

Red's 1st Birthday

Being a new mom is really pretty exciting. We prepare for lots of things for our babies including their birthdays. For moms like us, we always want what's best for our babies; yet in this fast-paced environment, there seems to be lots of things to be done in a very short span of time. Working moms can surely relate to this. Well, this blog will somehow give you an insight on how to conveniently prepare for your kids first birthday. Now, let's start!

Since we do not have enough space at home, my husband and I decided to just have our son's birthday in a typical fast food chain since it's pretty convenient and cheap. We researched on birthday packages from Jollibee, McDonalds, KFC, and Shakey's. We weigh our choices and decided to have the party in Shakey's. It may be a bit pricey as compared to the other 3 options, but considering the food, Shakey's would somehow be suitable to the taste of both adults and children. We availed their party package inclusive of the loot bags, prizes for the games, and balloons worth P3,900.

For the food, we availed 6 Monster Meal Deal (unit price - P2,320) inclusive of pizza, pasta, mojos, and chicken.

For the cake + 12 pcs. of cupcakes, we got them from the Shakey's supplier (cost: P1,799). Then we added 12 more pieces (cost: P300).

And of course, no birthday parties would be complete without the mascot - Captain Shakeys (cost: P900).

All of the mentioned above were c/o Shakey's, Makati Cinema Square. As for me, this is what I personally prepared - my DIY candy bar.

As a result, it was a success. The children and even our adult guests had fun.
